Hello Hello

It was a super busy week and I really don't have a ton to say except..

I hit my half-way mark (they call it hump day). Is this real life?

I went on exchanges with Sister Wilkinson. Woop!

The members here are wonderful and do so much for us.

It's been super cold and rainy. Where is summer?

We taught a lot of amazing people. #holla

A crazy man told us to keep the law of chastity.

And yeah. That about sums up my week. :)

I love this work and I love Scotland!

Love,
Sister Skagen

Highland Games

Today we were able to attend the Burntisland Highland Games. I will attach photos because it was pretty cool.
The men actually wear kilts and toss giant hammer things. It is real! Not just in the movies!

I also held a bearded dragon named Rosie.

Scotland is so cool.

This week we saw so many miracles! We've been "fasting" from things that could be hindering our work and we have to attribute it to that. It has truly been incredible. It is amazing to see what the Lord will show you when you sanctify yourself.

Margaret is on track to be baptised on the 29th of July! She might make us wear 60s dresses to it. And we met a new friend named Steven who is so ready for the gospel.

Things are happening here, folks.

Even though this is like, the worst summer Scotland has had in years apparently. I still wearing tights some days, what is this business? But I LOVE IT.

I'm so thankful to be here, this is the Lord's work and it is hastening!

P.S. This week we ate so much food. so.much.food. I think I gained 100 lbs. They're gonna need to roll me home I think. :)

P.P.S. We played Tug-O-War at a ward activity in skirts...and beat the elders. hollaaa

Answered Prayers

Hello friends.

The last week in the transfer always seems so long, but it was successful nonetheless.

Margaret came to church for all 3 hours. STAR.

We also for a walk with her and a stick attacked Sister Jackson's leg. I played "mum" for a bit and cleaned out her wound. Thank goodness I'm not afraid of blood.

And, I am here today to tell you that God really does answer prayers.

Sister Jackson and I have been really unsure if we should invite one of our friends to be baptized. So we've been praying and talking about it and right before we went in to teach them, we said a prayer and asked "Heavenly Father, will you make it super obvious if we are supposed to invite them to be baptized. We've been praying/studying/thinking about it and we need your help."

So. We finish our lesson about the Plan of Salvation without a baptismal invite.

And then, the husband asks if they can be baptized.

Well.

I'm not sure how much more obvious you can get.

God is real! He lives and loves us!

Dodgey Ice Cream Trucks

Ever since I've been here I've wanted to buy an ice cream from the super dodgey looking ice cream trucks that wander around. But every time we hear the little song we are never in a position to get some.

Wednesday night as we walked in the flat to eat tea..we heard it.
All 6 of our ears perked up like when a dog hears you put food in his bowl.

That was us, gone.

We ran so fast to the nearby development and got our dodgey ice cream.
It was heaven.

Oh hey.
We got moves call. Sister Wilkinson, after 10 months, is leaving Kirkcaldy. Sister Jackson and I will be staying together.

ALSO.
Happy 4th of July!
We didn't get invited to a BBQ (would've made us proper trunky) so we did the next most American thing.

McDonalds.

And guess what we ate.

"McBangBang's".

I dunnae ken what that was but Sister Jackson explained it as, a cheeseburger + a chicken burger + a cheeseburger stacked on top of each other.

Dunnae worry, hens. I ate the whole thing.

On to lighter news, we are teaching some way solid people. Lee and Sarah have become our new friends from some missionaries in Edinburgh. They have such a wonderful spirit about them and I'm excited to continue teaching them.

We also received a new Mission President, President Donaldson. I love him and his wife already. Big things will be happening in this mission, he has plans. :) I feel blessed to be a part of them.

That's me, done.
Love you all.

Sister Skagen

P.S. I forgot the coolest part! We went to a church in Burntisland which was where they made the decision to translate the Bible into English. So cool!
